Happy Halloween!

My family and I spent the weekend getting ourselves ready for Halloween. We found our decorations (many of which I can remember using as far back as 20 years ago at home!) and got our costumes ready for the big day. The girls are now 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 years old and are starting to understand that all of the dressing up business is quite fun! Sweet Pea has her school Halloween party today and is cautiously excited to dress up as a princess – and stoked to wear her warmer butterfly costume when she goes out with Mama and Daddy in the dark!!!

We started our day off with pumpkin carving for the first time ever. True to her nature Sweet Pea did not want to stick her hands in that pumpkin, but Ladybug had a blast getting dirty up to her armpits!

Then we all had a blast sifting through all that guck and to find the perfect seeds for roasting. After washing and drying them we drizzled them with olive oil and tossed them with pumpkin pie seasoning… yum!

Depending on how long it takes to get the girls to go to bed tonight I just might treat myself to a spooky read (but not too spooky. Ahem.. we all know what a wuss I am!). I'll let you know how that goes!

What are you doing for Halloween?
