It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?
Now that Contemporary Month is (sadly) over, I thought it was time to revisit an old friend!
Welcome to It’s Monday! What Are You Reading hosted by Sheila at Bookjourney! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!
So what am I reading this week? How do I ever decide? I have scheduled my reading so intensly for the last month. I think I'm going to catch up on some Netgalley reads, starting with…
The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa
"In a future world, vampires reign. Humans are blood cattle. And one girl will search for the key to save humanity."Allison Sekemoto survives in the Fringe, the outermost circle of a vampire city. By day, she and her crew scavenge for food. By night, any one of them could be eaten.
Some days, all that drives Allie is her hatred of "them." The vampires who keep humans as blood cattle. Until the night Allie herself is attacked–and given the ultimate choice. Die…or become one of the monsters.
Faced with her own mortality, Allie becomes what she despises most. To survive, she must learn the rules of being immortal, including the most important: go long enough without human blood, and you will go mad.
Then Allie is forced to flee into the unknown, outside her city walls. There she joins a ragged band of humans who are seeking a legend–a possible cure to the disease that killed off most of humankind and created the rabids, the mindless creatures who threaten humans and vampires alike.
But it isn't easy to pass for human. Especially not around Zeke, who might see past the monster inside her. And Allie soon must decide what–and who–is worth dying for.
Someone Else's Life by Katie Dale
When 17-year-old Rosie's mother, Trudie, dies from Huntington's Disease, her pain is intensified by the knowledge that she has a fifty percent chance of inheriting the crippling disease herself. Only when Rosie tells her mother's best friend, "Aunt Sarah," that she is going to test for the disease does Sarah, a midwife, reveal that Trudie wasn't her real mother after all. Rosie was swapped at birth with a sickly baby who was destined to die.
Devastated, Rosie decides to trace her real mother, joining her ex-boyfriend on his gap year travels, to find her birth mother in California. But all does not go as planned. As Rosie discovers yet more of her family's deeply buried secrets and lies, she is left with an agonizing decision of her own, one which will be the most heart breaking and far-reaching of all.
So what are you reading this week?

Hi Michelle, you can actually still follow my feed but view it in your GFC, just type http://www.wordsathome.ca into the “subscribe” list in the top left corner. I read all of my blogs that I follow (through RSS or GFC) through google reader.
I’m really excited to read Immortal Rules, I have been going through Kagawa withdrawal since I finished the Iron Fey series!
Good luck on catching up with your netGlleys, I have been failing at that for the last month!
'Someone Else's Life' sounds like an intense read, I hope you enjoy it!
